High Value Talent needed to tap into Asian century

According to the Asian Development Bank (Key Indicators for Asia and Pacific 2010), Asians are ‘likely to assume the traditional role of the US and European middle classes as global consumers”. Projections suggest that by 2030 much of developing Asia will have middle and upper class majorities.

No one can ever know us as well as we do

There’s something about the end of a year and the start of a new one that feels empowering. The past 12 months were filled with 525,600 minutes through which we experienced our world. Every minute counted for something - be it good or bad, productive or unproductive, a path that either moved us forward, or took us backwards.

Break down the walls of fear to lift up the nation

It’s a funny thing about walls. The very ones that we think are there to protect us, are the very ones that often hold us back. The most insidious are never the physical ones that we construct, but the invisible ones that imprison ideas, competition and innovation.

Can we become the Silk Route innovation hub for the Pacific Century?

Malaysia is a country that has always been a thriving business centre for the world. From our earliest trading history as a major stopover port for the Spice Route and the Silk Route, we have always been welcoming of new products and new ideas from every corner of the world.

The bottom 30% of our nation has suffered the most because they do not have the socio-economic resources and clout that their urban counterparts have in finding alternatives to a broken education system.

Creativity Before Innovation

I find it interesting that whilst there are several innovation indexes around the world, there is not one Creativity Index.
I suppose that is due to the fact that some feel innovation can be measured, but like many indexes it only measures one part of the innovation equation. Glaringly, without a measurement for creativity - which is a fundamental eco-system for innovation - how can we truly define it?
The answer lies in the fact that all existing innovation indexes are based on technological and business innovations, measured through patents, employment and economic growth.

Seems to me the silent majority has finally found its voice – on the net! They are the new power brokers, the bloggers who have discovered a channel to skirt prohibitive laws that limit freedom of speech and overcome financial costs of operating their own media.

"Why fix if it ain't broke." This is a well-known American saying and essentially it means to keep — "business as usual". After all "why rock the boat?"
