“There is no easy way for students to achieve the best in this world as the future is moving beyond the ordinary and thus everyone should strive their level best.
This was an advice from the founder and President of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato Seri Dr. Lim Kok Wing during the varsity’s graduation ceremony on Saturday.
He said every decision made by the students is vital as it would determine their future’s outcome.
“As we know the future seems to be a space of time that lies ahead of us . What you (graduates) do today will determine what you will you be tomorrow.
“Every opportunity must be used to achieve the best as it would help you to move closer to your dreams and ambition. Future always will be to make impossible into possible,” he stressed.
Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing also said in future the size of the world, virtually, would be as small as a laptop and that the global competition is widely open.
Graduates need to utilize knowledge and experience gained in the university to determine how the future would look like for them, said Lim.
He said the success story of Facebook, Yahoo and Google creators should be an example to graduates that nothing is impossible in this world.
“The creators of Facebook, Yahoo and Google were aged around 20’s when they started their business. Over billion hits every month on the websites. If they could do it, than you definetly could do it. You all have the enough knowledge to achieve success,” he added.
Meanwhile at the same ceremony, Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing has conveyed his gratitude to the parents as well for their countless hardship and sacrifice..
He was recalling the past memories by saying: “To prepare your children for school was not easy, you have to prepare them the uniforms, comb their hair and put on their shoes. It’s seemed just like happened yesterday but it was a long journey.
“Parents here should be happy and proud for what the children gained today. They made you all proud and became a successful person. On behalf of the university, we will be watching your success even from far.
He also said that the university’s door is always open for the graduates and it always be their second home.
A total of 527 students received their diplomas and degrees at the and it was the largest amount of graduating students in nearly 20 years.
The graduation session, themed “ Empowered to Make Possible the Impossible”, saw a very international ensemble with about 60% of the graduates being international students.
The awards are the Vision 2020 award (3 recipients), Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak for Creativity and Innovation (4 recipients), President’s Award for Creativity (12 recipients), President’s Award for Excellence (16 recipients) President’s Award for Young Achievers (25 recipients), Industry Awards for Excellence (62 recipients), and the Award for Outstanding Achievements (1 recipient).
