One of the world’s most creative and innovative universities, the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology is continuing with its expansion plan by adding two more blocks to its Cyberjaya campus.
Part of an exciting phase, the two new blocks are designed to facilitate the University’s plan to provide opportunities for its growing student population by giving them access to some of the best facilities and equipment around.
The campus currently houses more than 10,000 students from 150 countries.
Opening later this month, the new extensions also coincide with the University’s ongoing celebration of ‘20 years of transformational creativity and innovation’.
Several high profile units such as a business innovation centre, a training hotel, computer incubation areas, a fully-equipped conference room, a swimming pool and spacious student hostels are embedded within the complex.
The business innovation centre - the only one of its kind in Malaysia and, probably, the largest in Asia - will also serve as a platform for the University’s industry partners and government departments.
Special courses and industry training programmes, for example, in branding and packaging will be conducted there on a regular basis.
The Centre will be a focal point for top-of-the-line research and development besides being the venue for seminars, exhibitions and conferences.
The proposed Limkokwing Business Innovation Centre is an initiative designed to support individuals, organisations and companies to build their resources and sharpen their responses to new developments in the economy.
The business community too can benefit from the Centre’s excellent R&D resources, expertise and connection to upgrade their products and services and promote it globally.
Above all, the Business Innovation Centre will be a hub for Limkokwing students to showcase their creativity and innovative works and designs.

As early as in 1991, Limkokwing University has been sensitive to market demands because it felt a strong responsibility to produce graduates who are able to make a smooth transition from classroom to workplace.
The University is well-known for its quest to build a competent human capital resource to drive Malaysia’s economy forward and, over the decades, has been working closely with the government to produce a new generation of graduates with the knowledge and skills to add value to the country’s workforce.
This involves re-inventing the educational system to enable the Malaysian worker to maximize his or her human capital value through education and training in his or her field or area of interest.
The campus expansion will further enhance Limkokwing’s unique eco-system of ‘industry within university’, a strong feature of the University’s approach to learning.
In place at the University are franchise business units where students are able to acquire hands-on industry skills as part of the learning and teaching method designed to assist them later on in their chosen careers.
The President of Limkokwing University, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Lim Kok Wing said that Limkokwing is producing graduates with the right education, industry skills and mindsets to meet 21st century challenges.
“This is the only university of its kind in the world that brings the industry to the university.”
Limkokwing University is the only Malaysian institution of higher education that has gone global in a big way. It already has campuses in Botswana, London, Lesotho, Swaziland, Cambodia, Indonesia and China.
Soon New York and Mauritius are expected to join the ranks of its international campuses worldwide. A trend setter in creative education, Limkokwing has plans to set up campuses in 20 more countries within the next five years.
Today, Limkokwing degrees and diplomas are delivered in 20 countries and its global network of 282 university partners covers 77 countries worldwide. Its official website alone receives 108 million hits from 190 countries, a feat unmatched by other institutions.
Wherever it may be located, Limkokwing University is creating a unique environment that fulfills the creative needs of today’s generation seeking 21st century knowledge and skills to empower their careers in sectors such as web design, digital mastery, animation and product design among other creative professions.
Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing is one of Malaysia’s leading pioneers of creative education - a man in a hurry to transform the mindsets of people especially that of his students, and by doing so, he is opening new pathways for them to build their own destinies and contribute to nation-building as well.
And by re-inventing the Cyberjaya campus, he is taking one of the world’s most innovative universities from where it is today to where it must be tomorrow, a 21st century university poised to re-invent the world.
Recently honoured as the ‘Father of Innovation’ by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation for shaping the delivery of education in the country, Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing is once again peering far into the future
“We must now focus on creating transformational systems that will prepare the country for a quantum leap from where we are to where we must be, an innovative economy, capable of competing with the best in the world.”
With the new blocks, Tan Sri Lim is taking his students on an exciting future, one where Limkokwing graduates are the new masters of global advancement.
