Creativity and innovation are today’s power tools to drive the nation forward, said Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing.
He said the Government Transformation Programme had also identified the importance of transformation through creativity and innovation in the education system.
“We need to transform ourselves, our mindset and ways of doing things before we can attain the status of an Innovation Nation,” he said when receiving the Honorary Lifetime President Award from the Federation of Lim Association Malaysia at the university’s presidential library here yesterday.
The award was to recognise Lim as the founder of the world’s first and only university by a Lim.
It was also to acknowledge his contributions in the field of creative education.
Also present were the association’s president, Robert Lim and its permanent advisor, Tan Sri Lim Gait Thong.
Robert Lim said:“The university carries the brand name of Lim. That is something great to us. That is why we are here to recognise this feat.”
Kok Wing recently announced a RM10mil scholarship fund under the Limkokwing Foundation to help sponsor deserving Chinese students to acquire innovative skills.
