The Limkokwing campus was transformed into a colourful world in mid-September when nearly 1,500 participants showed their artistic skill in the 8th Annual National Art Competition organised by Global Art & Creative Sdn Bhd (GAC), the largest chain of art centres in the country.
The participants aged between four and 18 thronged the university college’s Limkokwing Plaza at the event, Colour the World, which was launched by Deputy Higher Education Minister Dato’ Ong Tee Keat.
Limkokwing presented full and partial scholarships worth RM200,000 to the top three winners from Group D for Limkokwing courses. One of the champions was 13-year-old Ellie Yong Sze Ching. She and six other winners from each group will take part in the Global Art 2nd International Art Competition in Jakarta in December.
Limkokwing moderates courses run by Global Art. The link-up of leading creative minds should lead to many exciting ventures as both parties are keen to change the landscape of training young minds for the global environment.
Limkokwing’s involvement clearly reflects the its strong support for the education of young people in every aspect and its commitment to producing future generations to contribute effectively to the nation’s growth.
Global Art has set up Limkokwing Recruitment Centres nationwide to promote the university college’s courses to the public at different levels.
